Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little bit about what you can expect to find here.

First and foremost, my name is Casey… or Miss Lange to the many students I’ve had the pleasure of teaching over the years. Before starting R.I.S.E., I taught kindergarten at a private independent school in Newport Beach. During my time in the classroom, I also had the opportunity to serve on the school’s admissions team. This experience gave me a unique perspective on what independent schools and kindergarten teachers are really looking for when it comes to readiness, both academically and developmentally.

I truly loved being in the classroom, but after 11 years I found myself wanting more time and flexibility to support students' emotional and academic needs in a more individualized way.

In a typical classroom, it’s simply not always possible to give each student exactly what they need in the moment, whether that means slowing things down or offering something more challenging. I wanted to be my best self, and that meant having the opportunity to be more intentional with how I support each learner.

That realization is what led me to step out of the classroom and begin working with students in one-on-one and small group settings. As I started working more closely with individual students and seeing the progression of learning across multiple grade levels, I discovered even more ways to support them in targeted, meaningful ways. That shift also gave me the time and flexibility to lean into another part of my work that I’ve always loved: creating.

Whether I’m making a worksheet or a dramatic play unit, I have always had a passion for designing activities and building meaningful learning experiences. With R.I.S.E., I’m able to create engaging, intentional activities while supporting students in a way that is tailored to their individual needs.

And that’s really where Spotlight on Learning comes in.

While I don’t claim to have all the answers, I do have a strong understanding of how students learn and the types of activities that can support that learning at home. My goal in creating Spotlight on Learning is to provide helpful, practical resources for families with young learners.

So stay tuned for updates where I share my experience, recommendations, and insight into early learning in a way that feels manageable and useful.

Thanks for being here. I'm so excited to see what comes next!

Casey
