Segmenting Sound Lot

$2.75Price

This activity provides explicit practice in phoneme segmentation and early word mapping using a playful “parking lot” format. Students select a CVC picture card, say each sound in the word, and “park” a car in the corresponding sound spaces, reinforcing one-to-one sound correspondence. An optional writing component allows students to record the word on handwriting lines, supporting spelling and letter formation.

This resource includes both color and black-and-white options to support flexible printing. While small toy cars are recommended for a hands-on experience, printable cars are also included. The activity aligns with structured literacy principles by strengthening phonemic awareness while connecting sounds to written letters in an engaging and hands-on way.
